Thomas Harlan Shelton, 68, of Port Saint Lucie, passed away suddenly Dec. 14 in his home.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Shelton, of Port Saint Lucie; daughter, Sara Charlene Hart, of Clermont; step-children Jennifer Goodman and Bill Palmer of Jensen; brother, Charles L. Shelton of Chula Vista, Calif., sisters Sandra Shelton-Clark of Altamonte Springs and Brenda Mynes of Orlando; grandchildren Tommy, Layla, Roxy, and Winter; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, Allene and Charles Shelton of Orlando.
Tom was born Aug. 9, 1949, in Florence, Ala. He owned his own electrical contracting company for many years and recently retired with his wife and soulmate, Janet. They married Aug. 1, 2004, and lived in St. Cloud until 2017.
Tom was a devoted husband, father, brother, and papa, and looked forward to many years of travelling and spending time with his family. He has travelled all over the U.S., and also lived in Oklahoma City, where his daughter was born; and Houston and Austin, Texas.
Tom was a master of all trades, a talented musician and an avid reader who was constantly building and had many home improvement projects. He is loved very much and will be missed dearly.
A visitation will be held on Monday, December 18, 2017 at 12PM with a service to start at 1PM at the Haisley Tribute Center 2041 SW Bayshore Blvd Port Saint Lucie, Florida. Burial will follow at Rolling Oaks Cemetery.
