Sam Walker

December 26, 1943 — September 22, 2015

Sam Walker
Jensen Beach, Florida

Sam Walker, age 71, went home to be with the Lord peacefully on Tuesday, September 22,
2015. Sam was born on December 26, 1943 in Fort Meade, (Booger Bottom) Florida. He finished high school in Bartow, Florida. Attended Tampa College for 2 years where he received his Associates Degree in computer science. He was employed as supervisor by New Wales Chemicals and retired after 31 years of service. He managed Dwight Hatfield manufactured Homes in Okeechobee, Florida for 5 years. He recently was employed by Walmart Corporation for the last 5 years.

He was an active member of Real Life Church, Port St. Lucie, FL where he served faithfully in the Media and Production Department. Sam was always repairing computers for people, and loved every minute of it. His family called him a professional student as he was always going to school for something.

Sam was an avid bass fisherman, but he enjoyed fishing for any type of fish on any body of water from a mud hole to the Ocean. He loved playing golf and he had the opportunity to play on Shawnee Creek Golf course in Delaware, Pennsylvania. He was on the IMC Bowling League. At home Sam got into more trouble than the children because even at the dinner table he was the instigator who kept everyone laughing. No matter where Sam was, at home, work, out in public, or even at Church he was always being funny.

His children, grandchildren and greatgrandchildren were his greatest delight. But his greatest, greatest delight after The Lord was his (baby girl) his faithful wife Flora. Sam was always saying “I love everybody.” Sam and Flora (Elder) married in 1968, they shared 47 years of happiness, (some ups and downs but their love for each other remained strong).
He was preceded in death by his parents Cyril Walker and Ruth Kellum and sister, Shirley Bowman. He is survived by his wife, Flora Walker, 3 daughters Rita Kruithoff (Steve), Kim Spoon (Mike) and Susie Bryan (Chuck), 1 son Benjamin Dansby (Lisa), 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren. Sam has two brothers, Hugh Walker (Debbie), Bobby Walker (Barbara), one sister Virginia, and a host of relatives and friends.

The Going Home Party will be Sunday, September 27, 2015 at Real Life Church, 1445 SW Hibiscus St., Port St. Lucie, FL. Regular church service begins 10:30 am, Lunch will be served from 12:30-1:30 pm and the Celebration of Life Service begins at 1:45 p.m.

It was Sam’s heart’s desire that his beloved wife be taken care of, therefore in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Real Life Church on behalf of Flora Walker. Arrangements are entrusted to Haisley Funeral & Cremation Service, Fort Pierce, FL.
