Sgt. Robert Charles Valentine

Sgt. Robert Charles Valentine, 44, passed away May 25, 2017 surrounded by family. He battled colorectal cancer with courage and tenacity for four years.

Rob was a loving husband, Dad, son, brother, uncle, friend, mentor, and brother-in-arms. He was a veteran having proudly served in the United States Marine Corp. Rob was a 21 year veteran of the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office. As a dedicated law enforcement officer, he achieved the rank of Sergeant in 2014. During his law enforcement career he had many accomplishments that he took pride in. One of his greatest achievements during his career was the countless hours he spent investigating crimes against children. Rob’s dedication and passion for these cases made a difference for many.

Rob was a devoted family man. He is survived by his wife, Jennifer of Port Saint Lucie, Florida; son, Robby of Port Saint Lucie, Florida; daughter, Isabella “Lulu” of Port Saint Lucie, Florida; parents, Jim and Libby Valentine of Dahlonega, Georgia; sister, Michelle (John) Valentine-Mercer of Gainesville, Georgia; brother, Jimmy (Dana) Valentine of Melbourne, Florida; father and mother-in-law, Joseph and Sharon Magin of Port Saint Lucie, Florida; brother-in-law, Rick (Debbie) Magin of Port Saint Lucie, Florida; as well as numerous, beloved nieces and nephews.

Rob was a die-hard Florida Gator Fan. He enjoyed outdoor sports such as hiking and running. He spent many hours researching his ancestry. Rob was passionate about traveling, cooking, spending time with his family and friends.

Rob was loved by all who knew him. He will not only be missed by his family but his dear friends and colleagues.

A Gathering will be held on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 from 4:30 - 7:30PM at Haisley Funeral Home, Fort Pierce. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at 1:30PM at Westside Baptist Church, Fort Pierce. Arrangements are under the direction of Haisley Funeral & Cremation Service.
