Nancy J. Turoff

Nancy Joan Turoff died September 4, 2015 at the VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach, Florida.

She was born on March 16, 1930 in Toronto, Canada; daughter of the late Janice and Maurice Rosenfeld. Nancy lived in California, Arkansas, and traveled to Fort Pierce seasonally with her husband before moving to the Colonades in 1997. Among her many talents she was a Sunday School Teacher. She had a part in an Alfred Hitchcock movie “Marney”. Also she had a part in the TV Alfred Hitchcock series. Nancy’s career was as an Interior Designer in Los Angeles, California. She also taught Design Class at UCLA as a guest speaker. Her love of art involved her being a docent at the Vero Beach Art Museum. Among other wonderful activities, Melvin and Nancy were avid sailors for 20 years off the coast of California, scuba diving and swimming, and an avid bridge player at the Pelican Yacht Club. She also went on many cruises with her two daughters. She was a loving and caring person and respected by all who knew her.
Survivors include her husband, Melvin Turoff, her daughter, Eve Pickart, stepdaughter, Ellen Maness and her brother, Peter Reynolds in London, England. She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter Maureen “Sandy” Freshour and her stepdaughter, Laura James.

Memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Hospice House of 901 37th Street, Vero Beach, FL 32960.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2015 from 10-11 AM with a service to follow at 11:00 AM at Haisley Funeral Home, Fort Pierce.
