Matthew Sparger, Jr

Matthew Sparger, Jr., 78, of Port Saint Lucie, Florida passed away April 21, 2016.

Mr. Sparger moved to Port Saint Lucie, Florida in 2000 coming from Detroit, Michigan.

Matthew was a retired Police Officer serving the City of Detroit for 25 years before retiring. He served aboard the USS Forrestal CVA-59 with the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed boating, fishing, travelling in his RV and bowling.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Equilla Sparger of Port Saint Lucie, Florida; daughter, Ramona Rose of Port Saint Lucie, Florida; sons, Van Sparger of Jupiter, Florida and Mark Sparger of Gainsville, Virginia; 5 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter.

A visitation will be held Saturday, April 30, 2016 from 10:00AM to 11:00 AM with a service to start at 11:00 AM at First United Methodist Church 260 SW Prima Vista Blvd Port Saint Lucie, Florida 34983. Burial will take place at Rolling Oaks Cemetery 2200 SW Del Rio Blvd Port Saint Lucie, Florida 34953.
