Joan Patricia Turner

Joan Patricia Turner, 84, died December 10, 2017 in Fort Pierce, Florida.

Mrs. Turner was born in Cleveland, Ohio on May 24, 1933 to Edward and Pauline Roache. Joan attended and graduated from the Villa Angela Academy for Girls, which was the oldest Catholic Institution of Learning in the Diocese of Cleveland, Ohio. She graduated top of her class in arts and design. She worked for an internal medicine physician for 10 years prior to moving to Clearwater, Florida in 1981. She retired in 2004 from Florida Blood Services, where she held the job title of Territory Representative, organizing and overseeing blood drives in the Pasco/Hillsboro and Pinellas county areas on Florida’s West Coast. She moved to Port St. Lucie where she resided with her son and grandchildren in December of 2007.

She was a member of the Midway Road Baptist Church. Everyone knew her as “JT” or “Joanie”. She loved to cook, loved the beach and getting a suntan and always looked forward to seeing her grandchildren.

Survivors include her son, Steven Turner; grandson, Steven Turner; granddaughters, Shannon Turner and Briana Biggerstaff; great-grandson, Abraham Turner and Breyden Biggerstaff; and great-granddaughter, Nevaeh Biggerstaff. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward & Pauline Roache and daughter, Tammy Louise Turner Herring.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, In Loving Memory of her daughter, Tammy Louise Turner Herring that died in 1989 at the young age of 34 to this horrible disease.
