Giuseppe (Pippo) passed away on June 8, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born January 9, 1954, in Gaggi, Sicily. Pippo moved to the United States in his early twenties to join his older sisters and seek a new and better life. Soon after his arrival to the U.S., Pippo joined the U.S. Army and had a distinguished 20 year career marked by the many military honors he received. With his loving wife Caterina and two children, Sylvia and Michael, he served in several U.S. bases located in Kansas, Mississippi & Washington and had multiple tours in Germany and Italy. Pippo rose through the ranks from private to staff sergeant. He was well liked by all who knew him, because of his strong work ethic, reliability and friendly demeanor. During his long career in the Army, Pippo and Caterina made many friends with whom they continue to remain in close contact. During his tour in Italy, Pippo was chosen to manage transportation services for the highest ranking Army members, a responsibility only given to a ranking member of the Army with a proven record of exceptional service.

After Pippo was honorably discharged from the Army, he remained in the trucking industry and worked for several large trucking companies until his retirement. He and Caterina later settled down in Port St Lucie, Florida. Pippo was thrilled to begin the next stage of his life and to focus on what was truly important: his love of family and friends. Pippo was always loving and supporting to his 2 children, and especially to his granddaughter Adriana, who he doted over and delighted in all of her many accomplishments. Pippo and Caterina enjoyed spending most of their leisure time in the company of caring and supportive friends. Pippo had a great sense of humor and his laugh would light up the room. He was very proud of his Italian/Sicilian heritage and a fond memory was watching him dance to classic Sicilian music during family gatherings. During the last days of his life, he frequently expressed a strong desire and hope for his family and friends to remain loving and close.

Pippo was loved by of all who knew him and will be greatly missed!

Pippo is survived by of his wife Caterina Pidoto, their two children Sylvia and Michael, son in law Matt, and his granddaughters, Mia and Adriana. His surviving siblings and spouses are Nunziatina (Nancy) and her husband Mike, Anna and her husband Frank, Giuseppina (Josephine) and her husband James, and Eleonora. He was preceded in death by his sister Caterina DiBartolo and her her husband Alfio DiBartolo.
