Franklin Alexander Harris

Franklin A. Harris, 90, passed away on February 7, 2018 in Fort Pierce, Florida.

Frank was born in Toronto, Canada. He graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Applied Science degree. He worked as a chemical engineer with Reynolds Aluminum for several years. In 1954, Frank and his wife, Valerie, moved to Fort Pierce, Florida joining his parents in a family-owned citrus business. Two years later, they started Harris Construction Corporation, building homes throughout St. Lucie County. A mortgage division was added to the business, which later became known as Harcon Corporation.

Frank was active in the Fort Pierce Rotary Club for many years and served as past president and secretary treasurer. He was fluent in several languages and volunteered for the Learn to Read Program. He was a proud sponsor of the Harris Construction Mustangs Little League baseball team.

He is survived by daughter, Stephanie (Dan) DeIulio of Fort Pierce, Florida; sons, Glenn J. Harris of Sterling, Virginia, and Keith J. (Tracy) Harris of Jupiter, Florida; grandchildren, Alex M. DeIulio, Laura L. DeIulio, and Taylor C. Riley.

He was predeceased by his wife, Valerie V. Harris; sons, Craig F. Harris and Scott W. Harris; and brother, Ronald B. Harris, MD.

Services will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 2:00pm at the Liberty Truth & Deliverance Tabernacle Church, 1406 Avenue B, Fort Pierce FL 34950.
