Eleanor Jane Morrison

Eleanor Jane Morrison, 92, died Tuesday morning, December 5, 2017 at Treasure Coast Hospice Center in Fort Pierce, FL. Before falling ill, she resided at the Lynmoore Assisted Living Facility in Fort Pierce, FL.
She was born January 31, 1925 in Washington, Iowa; the daughter of Edna M. and Claude E. Tucker. Her father was the owner of Tucker Chevrolet Dealership in Washington, Iowa where Eleanor worked in the office.
Eleanor grew up in Washington, Iowa and married Ira Fisher Morrison June 20, 1946. Together they moved to Maryland and New York while Ira worked for the FBI, and then back to Iowa where he practiced law and she raised their family. They retired to Naples, FL, and Rochester, VT before Eleanor moved to Miami and later to Fort Pierce. She was a devoted Christian, friend, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Survivors include her three children, E. Ann (Charles) Benton of Frederick, MD, Thomas T. (Terresa) Morrison of Hillsboro, Oregon, and Mary B. (Richard) Weden of Fort Pierce, FL, grandchildren Mary (Michael) Small of Woodbine, MD, Chad Benton of Fort Myers, FL, Shane Morrison of Portland, OR, Leslie (Justin) Nelson of Hillsboro, OR, Tricia Morrison of Portland, OR, Alexander (Hannah) Weden of Nottingham, England, Katherine (Stefan) Johansson of St. Paul, MN and Alison (Michael) Stoddart of Rye, NY, and 9 great grandchildren plus one due in April, 2018 and several nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her parents, Edna and Claude Tucker, brother, Claude “Gene” Tucker, and her husband of 57 years, Ira Morrison.
Eleanor had a vibrant personality and she loved to laugh. She enjoyed her church, family, traveling, baking, playing bridge and calling bingo.
Celebration of Life services will be held on Sunday, December 10, 2017 at 1:30 PM at Lynmoore Assisted Living Facility in Fort Pierce, FL, as well as the Rochester Federated Church in Rochester, VT in the summer of 2018. Burial will be at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Rochester, VT.
