Edward Peter Lanigan, 87, died October 22, 2014 in Fort Pierce, Florida.
Mr. Lanigan was born in Brooklyn, New York and moved to Fort Pierce in 1980 coming from Wantagh, New York.
He retired as Sergeant after 21 years of dedicated service with the New York Police Department.
He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was a member of St. Anastasia Catholic Church, Elks Lodge, Knights of Columbus, American Legion, Moose Lodge, and the retired Policeman’s Association Club #1013.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Christine M. Lanigan of Fort Pierce, FL; sons, Jerry (Sue) Lanigan of Port St. Lucie, FL and Edward (companion, Michelle) Lanigan of Texas; daughters, Susan (Bill) Field of Wantagh, NY and Maureen (Kenny) Winn of Jensen Beach, FL; 11 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
