David Ardon Wilson (Joe), age 72, passed away on June 23rd in Port St. Lucie.

Joe David met Christ’s appointment at 9am, when he passed away from a massive heart attack. We shall all celebrate his life and his memory will be dear to our hearts always. He clearly loved his neighbor as himself. He taught the Gospel truth with all his might and was a true example of Christ here with us. We know our big brother, Christ, has called out to him: “…Well done, thou good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy Lord” (KJV Matt 25:21).

And Joe David would say to us: “…watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love is appearing” (KJV 2 Tim. 4:5-8).

Joe David was born in Johnson City, TN to O.D. & Mae Wilson on September 21, 1945. He went to school at East Tennessee State University and earned a Masters Degree in Business Administration. He married Linda on December 15th, 1966 in Johnson City, TN. He worked as a construction salesman and construction manager for 50 years, his true life’s work was preaching throughout the United States as part of the Wilson Quartet and eventually settling as the full time preacher as the Port St. Lucie Church of Christ for 36 years.
