Charles E. Pratt passed away on June 2, 2017 in Port Saint Lucie, Florida. Mr. Pratt was born February 2, 1922 in Lysander, New York, the son of the late Clifton Pratt and Ruth DeLong. He is
survived by his sons, Gary and wife Patricia of Henderson, Nevada; Gregg and his wife, Jennifer of Saratoga Springs, New York; and daughter Cheryl Bauer and her husband, William of Port Saint Lucie, Florida. He has two grandsons, and four great-grandchildren. He has a brother, Clifton, who lives in Winter Haven, Florida. He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise and his sister, Shirley.

Mr. Pratt was a veteran of World War II, where he served in the European Theater. After working for 36 years with the Merchants National Bank in Syracuse, New York; Mr. Pratt served 13 years as President of Fulton County National Bank in Gloversville, New York. He graduated from North Syracuse High School in 1939. During his Army and banking careers, he attended classes at Syracuse University, Cornell University, Purdue University, West Point, and the University of Vienna. He was a member of the Centerville Masonic Lodge and the Tigris Shrine in Syracuse, New York.

During their 64 years of marriage, Charles and Louise lived in North Syracuse, Liverpool, and Gloversville, New York; Cape Cod, Massachusetts; and Port Saint Lucie, Florida. After his retirement from banking in 1985, Charles and his wife, Louise travelled the world visiting the Wonders of the World on five continents and riding on the Orient Express and the Trans-Siberian Railroad. They lived their motto: “enjoy yourself, it’s later than you think.”


Arrangements are under the direction of Haisley Funeral and Cremation Services 3015 Okeechobee Road Fort Pierce, Florida 34947. A private interment will be at a later date at Pine Plains Cemetery Clay, New York.
