Betty (White) Long, 88, departed this life on June 25, 2016.
Born July 20, 1927 in Columbus, Ohio to Brayton R. White and Shirley M. Holcomb White who preceded her in death. Also predeceased by her only sibling, Robert T. White. She is survived by her 2 daughters, Barbara Ellen (Bob) King and Janet Kay Collins Elliott, with whom she lived; her 2 grandsons, Stephen R. King of Columbia, South Carolina and Gregory A. (Yuko) King of Nagoya, Japan; and 2 great-granddaughters, Lindsey A. King of Vero Beach, Florida and A. Katlyn King of Nagoya, Japan.
Betty moved from Columbus, Ohio to Miami, Florida in 1976 to continue her career with Merrill Lynch Company. She retired in 1990 after 41 years. She was active in her churches at Wayside in Miami, Florida, First Baptist Church in Lehigh Acres, Florida, Central Parkway Baptist in Orlando, Florida and Westside Baptist Church in Fort Pierce, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Westside Baptist Church Building Fund, 3361 South Jenkins Road, Fort Pierce, Florida 34981.
Services: Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2016 from 5:00 to 6:00PM with a service to follow at 6:00PM at Haisley Funeral Home, Fort Pierce, Florida. Burial will take place at Concord Cemetery in Grove City, Ohio. Arrangements are under direction of Haisley Funeral & Cremation Service.
