Mrs. Charles was born in Barbourville, Kentucky and moved to Fort Pierce 34 years ago coming from Dayton, Ohio.
She was a loving mother and grandmother.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Gary D. Charles, Sr. of Fort Pierce, FL; daughter & son-in-law, Debbie & Gary Brooks of Fort Pierce, FL; son & daughter-in-law, Gary D. & Caroline Charles, Jr. of Port St. Lucie, FL; 6 brothers, Luther, Jr., Arvil, Jimmy, Floyd, Chester, and Dexter Messer; 2 sisters, Cleda Jackson and Helen Haynes; 3 grandchildren, Ethan Brooks, Lyndsay Brooks, and Christa Charles; 27 nieces and nephews.
