Alice Seaton McSweeny (nee Rea)
Alice McSweeny, age 81 of Stuart, FL passed away April 20, 2015 at her residence with her loving husband and family by her side.
She was born September 29, 1933 in Grove City, PA and has been a resident of the Treasure Coast since 1972 coming from Wilkinsburg, PA.
Alice was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Stuart; she had a strong faith in her Saviour Jesus Christ and greatly anticipated that she was soon going “to see Jesus”.
She is survived by her husband of almost 65 years, Joseph Miles McSweeny, daughters; Dorothy (John) Brennan of Dover-Foxcroft, ME, Katharine (Harry) Snyder of Elgin, IL, and Melanie (David) MacLean of Oswego, NY. In addition, she is survived by sisters; Karen McMurtrie of Pittsburgh, PA, and Jane Graffius of Shreveport, LA, 11 grandchildren, and 27 great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Presbyterian Church or Treasure Coast Hospice.
A visitation will be held on Friday, April 24, 2015 from 5:30 PM until service time at 7:00 PM at Grace Presbyterian Church, 1875 Britt Road, Stuart, FL, 34994 with her Pastor Bernie van Eyk officiating. Burial will take place in Prairie Cemetery in Harrisville, PA. Local arrangements are under the direction and care of Haisley Funeral Home, Port St. Lucie.
